My dog has never been to Big Hill Boarding, what do I need to do?
We will email you a boarding application to complete and get your dog in our system.
You also need to supply us with a veterinary proof of required vaccinations (rabies, distemper/parvo, bordetella)
What should I bring?
We recommend bringing your own food as to not upset their tummies by changing their diet, although not neccessary as we do have food at an additional cost.
You can bring special treats if you would like.
BHB supplies all the bedding, bowls, and toys so nothing is required unless you feel the pet needs their own special items.
BHB in not responsible for lost or misplaced toys or bedding.
What is the earliest I can bring my dog or latest I can pick him up?
Dropoff - 7:00 a.m. is the earliest - we will have kennel locked before that and that is when we open to feed dogs.
Pickups - 8:30 p.m. - NO EXCEPTIONS. We shut off lights and put dogs to bed. If you come later it wakes them all up and we have to do another round of potty breaks and they are very noisy waking young people up that may be sleeping. Thank you for understanding. You can get him first thing the next a.m. at no extra charge as you have already paid the day rate at this point.
What does a typical dog day look like at Big Hill Boarding?
Each dog goes outside morning, noon, and evening for extended play and potty times. Anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours per session depending on what the dog needs.
Dogs are feed in the a.m. and p.m. unless otherwise instructed.
All dogs are monitored to make sure they are matched with proper size/energy levels for playmates so that they have an enjoyable experience.
Do I need to make an appointment to drop off my dog?
Only for first time visitors to get you set up in the right spot and make sure all paperwork is in order.
Otherwise a call or text us to get you on the schedule and then we will set up a fresh kennel ahead of time so it's ready for you to drop off on your scheduled day at your convenience.
What safety measures do you have in place to keep my pet safe?
We have 24/7 video surveillance both inside and outside the kennel to check in on your pets even when we are away from the kennel.
We lock all outdoor doggies doors at night to keep dogs indoors to avoid any unwanted critters disturbing them or the country sounds of coyotes they may not be used to.
